The Rise and Fall of the IBM Hacker Culture

The reason that i always wear the the suit and either a white or blue dress shirt is because of IBM. There were high up people at IBM that really cared about open source and um and it was kind of a selling point for them. I had this idea planted in my mind what if somebody were to present themselves very professionally so that they could walk into a lawyer's officer of doctor's office and fit right in but yet have a bit of hacker mindset. Let's make it open let's make things work let's not close the source let's not make it a closed systemLet's embrace this openness and that was sort of the ethos that i built the business around.
