The Importance of Data Protection Legislation in India
Lack of comprehensive legislation also means a compelling and credible consent support framework would not be there with the data subjects. Transfer of personal data from other countries to india would be a problem. The bill would help us deal with specia specific issues like the right to be forgotten, which gives an indication of giving back control to data principles. But having said all this, withdrawal of legislation is also a potential opportunity to improve upon multiple things.
