The Concept of Treating the Patient

The concept of technology over reason has led to this prevailing tenant in my career. Using tests should be an adjunct to care, not to replace taking a history,. Whatever objective tests such as radiographs need to be done. You can make a determination. There isn't anyone I know who's ever taken an MRI and said that they feel better after taking the MRI, right? It's not therapeutic, but from a psychological perspective, patients have this need that if I don't get an MRI, then we're less of a physician.
