Nation States - The Change in the Justification of Life and Death
The nations state swallows up all the other interlocking interweaving circles of affiliation, so that all we're left with is one big, empty circle called the sovereign state. And what we find in the human psyche is a loss of affiliation, ora, a loss of allegiant groups. A partly this is a migration of the holy, because the is taking over what formerly was considered sacred within these other circles. It's an impoverishment of allegiance and it's a simplifyingof an area that should be complex.
