Is There a Humanist Movement in the United States?

There's this demand amongst the liberal, progressive, white millieu of asking artists of color to sort of humanize themselves in order for a predominantly white audience to have empathy. And it's a double bind, because then you're kind of limited to constantly narrating your worf when you should be worthy from the getgo. I go back to james baldwin where he says, i don't know why people personally, but i know them hisrcally. In that sense, there's such a wealth. History is much longer than the brief few years that we get to share onearth,. us as living peopled.
