Cremation in the Roman Empire
Cremation was widely practised during the roman empire. It disappeared in europe during the fourth century. With emergence of christianity, bodily burial became a custom. Cremation made an unexpected comeback at end of eighteenth century when revolution france also revolutionized the way europeans dispatch their dead.
