The Future of Precision Psychiatry

With traditional diagnoses we have these broad syndromes that are marked by a homogeneity comorbidity and precision. How well is it understood that we need precision medicine approaches here to address this? I think what's not clear is how precise does every individual with schizophrenia need his or her own tailored treatment, or are there groups of individuals with that diagnosis who will benefit from very similar approaches. We don't know if we have a situation where we have a specific cause leading to a specific pathology that we want to target,. Or groups of causes leading to groups of pathophysiology that might share something in common with schizophrenia and other disorders. That's what we need to discover.
