The Cutback Rule

An old turtle rule is that when you have a drawdown, you reduce your positions twice as fast as the drawdown. So if you're down 10%, you should reduce your positions by 20% and so on. One of the secrets of the cutback rule is don't have to implement it very often. Trade small. Don't put yourself in a situation where you have to make these radical cutbacks. It's going to keep you from losing too much. That is just reduce your positions and live to play another day.
