The Importance of Psycho-Education for Young People With Autism
More opportunities for young people to learn about autism and their diagnosis is important. Lab: I think it was a mark of how much psycho-education was needed and had been lacking. We don't help the child understand that diagnosis, we also work out where that sits in their identity. Do they want autism to be their identity, or is it just part of who they are? Or do they not want to be identified like that? It's an ongoing conversation.
