Is There a Failure in the UK Government?
There hasn't been investment worth speaking off in the UK for decades, both public and private. The only part of the private sector that grew in that gap was the finance sector. And what you've got is an enormous trade deficit, importing a large part of your manufacturing and agricultural goods from the rest of the world. It led to decisions which weakened the capacity of the UK to produce for its own needs over time. That's the sign of how how fail this whole policy is.
