The CIA and Fatherland and Freedom in Chile

The CIA teamed up with a far right extremist group in Chile. They were outraged at the election of a yanday from the ruling class, from the military and from the far right of Chile. I don't think this idea that Latin Americans are incapable of democracy or self-governance has ever entirely gone away. The language to describe it changes but that sentiment is still there. And we're still living in that legacy today.
