Mesopotamian kings would declare consumer debt null and void, return all land to its original owners. In sumeria, these were called declarations of freedom. This is about as far from what primordial debt theorists had in mind as one could possibly imagine. What makes the concept of society so deceptive is that we assume the world is organized into a series of compact, modular units called societies.
