The US Home Ownership Rate After the Great Depression

The US home ownership rate is currently at 65.9% year date. The average is 65.26%. We're going to stay at 60%. I've often talked about this renter nation, which is a real thing. As these prices go up, you may see these home ownership rates go down as more people are forced into rentals. A diversified tax efficient low cost, low turnover investment vehicle exists for the stock market, but not the housing market. It's very capital intensive to buy one property even in your local market. And you're certainly not buying the overall market.
