The Coming of the Spirit and the Coming of Judgment

The coming of the Spirit is a fire of purification it's also a fire of judgment Jesus comes. John in this sense is not the quintessential prophet but he is typifying all the work of the prophets that have come before him. When this fire of judgment comes God is going to be purifying a people for himself so I think there are several levels in which this coming day of the Lord is carried out.
