Adrian: I have a patient in her 40s who's coming in with subacute symptoms feeling very fatigued. She has anemia likely secondary to chronic disease, at least a moderate sized pericardial effusion and displacement of her heart as seen on the cardiac MRI. We were worried about a malignant ideology for the mass; tissue was the issue. After extensive discussion, it was felt that a biopsy would be too high risk a procedure. Adrian: The safest approach was to proceed with full surgical resection and omit a biopsy in advance.
