The Worst April Fool's Jokes

Don i jokingly told my manager i quit via emal as an april fool's joke. It seems my joke was taken a bit too seriously, as i just got an automated emal from h r with a check out procedures and an invite to a few check out meetings later this week. My company has also been letting a lot of people go re cently. So i am worried that this is an excuse to have that happen to me. How can i determine if i am actually being fired, or my boss is just plaing?
