JS is a liberal language, but I think it's easy to work with because there's no magic. But sometimes programmers when they really like a thing don't value enough the cost and mental overhead that introduces to the organization. One of my favorite examples right now is dialyzer. Yes, it is theoretically cool to have all of the types back and whatnot, but dialyzer errors are just so unfriendly to users. It takes oftentimes also a long time to run.
