The Impossible Metals Robot Collects Rare Metals From the Deep Ocean

Robot was designed to collect rare metals from the deep ocean, like nickel and cobalt. A camera on the machine monitors its advance as it hovers over the harbour floor. Using artificial intelligence, it's able to recognise the valuable metals while leaving important marine ecosystems intact. Oliver Gunnar-Sakera is the CEO of US-based company Impossible Metals. His goal is to try and come up with a cheaper, greener alternative to existing dredging technology.
