The History of Persia

Under the reign of Cyrus and Darius, the Persians expand way west into Asia Minor. What we see is this massive mingling of Greek and Persian culture, even language. Herodotus gives us most of the names by which we know all of these colorful characters from Persia but those are Greek effications of those names. So Greece in that regard has a really big influence on Darius on Xerxes on the whole story that we're looking at.
