The Rise and Fall of VisiCalc
VisiCalc was the first spreadsheet application and it was created by a fellow named Dan Bricklin. VisiCalc in and of itself sold a lot of personal computers because it was so powerful for small businesses. It would get displaced several years later by other spreadsheet packages like Lotus123 and then years after that by Microsoft Excel.
