She says these kinds of technologies have been touted to a certain kind of operator as a money saving enterprise. But she says they're alienating to most diners and drinkers who don't want to be physically separated from the people in the space by their phone screen. Kohn: For those places, not everyone, but a lot of people, just less enjoyable than before.
