The Problem With COVID-19
We talk about COVID-19 and the experience as this sort of individual, whether it's personal responsibility all the way down to personal experience. And then every one of those is still treated as this like individual experience and not some sort of like collective event. I think that what we have basically is this ever growing abstraction mixed with these concerted efforts really to keep that in the realm of abstraction. The other is a kind of project of like moral absolution. It's a way of trying to get out of this without anybody having learned anything.
