The Decadence of the King
In Daniel chapter five, we encounter the last day of the Babylonian empire and it all happens around a feast. This feast is decadent and sloppy and the king looks stupid and he's mocking God. And in the New Testament, you get this with the feast of Herod, the one that ultimately culminates in John the Baptist's head on a platter. We're going to see this in Esther, really more than one banquet in Esther.
