Monarch Butterfly Migration
This week on Side Door, we examine the epic migration of monarch butterflies. Monarchs make one of the longest migrations of any insect. The female monarch can lay 300 or 400 eggs in her lifespan. Despite their protective toxins, more than 90% of monarch caterpillars are killed before they even turn into butterflies.
