The Cold War and the Domestic Enemy

i'm fairly certain that the emphasis on waging the cold war among conservatives may have come at the expense of emphasizing the fight against domestic enemy. Is that something you think about now? Absolutely. And i was, of course, carried away by the cold war. I was extremely anti soviet anti communist. The communists ran an unpleasant, autocratic, militaristic society,. but i think they had more of a sense of traditional social order than the united states.
