Is China a Threat to the US?

If China were to go into Taiwan and if the US were to have a military conflict, it's like mutually assured economic destruction. I would say that in the case of Taiwan, it would be a much worse economic impact on the world than we think. The constraints right now are that United States of America is struggling to convince its allies that China is an existential threat to the US. On the other hand, for China, their dream of a consumption led economy are dead for the rest of this decade.
