The History of Quasars

Quasars were found by a graduate student at the university of cambridge. She was trying to understand how these quasars twinkle, how they scintillate. The way we see quasars is not by looking, usually, at visible light, but by looking at radio waves. They come from really, really far away and are best seen in the radio spectrum. And so that's what makes these quasarsscintillate.
