The Last Significant Jewish Thinker of the Medieval Period, Isaac Abravanel

Isaac Abravanel was the last significant Jewish thinker of the medieval period. He disagreed with Maimonides on a number of points, including belief in Messiah still to come. But he conceived of law as having same structure as an Aristotelian science. When crisis of 1492 came, he lost his position and his second homeland when he chose exile over conversion to Christianity.
