Beed's History of the English Church
The sources from which Beed draws his material are briefly indicated in the dedication to King Kaelwulf, which forms the preface. He does not specify his sources, but indicates them generally as preorum scripta. These authors are mainly plenty, some Linus, Euryosius, Eutropius, and the British historian Gildes. Prosper of Aquitaine also supplies him with some materials. When he comes to his main subject, the history of the English church, he appears to rely but little upon books.
