The Problem With Pursuing the False Self

Bart Tarmen: Home is the truest sense of who you are, and this is the you that God relates to. Throughout scripture we find God accommodating humans, God acquiescing to what humans want - even though it may not necessarily be what God wants. And so in so far as we pursue this other version of our false selves, it's problematic in our relationship with the divine, because that's the you thatGod desires to relate to.
