The Last Survivor of the Great Famine
A man called daniel degen died at imo in county dish in 19 28. However, dan was 104 years of age at the time of his death. He had been an illiterate agricultural laborer on the estate of the earl of port harrington most of his waking life. An obituary in a radical irish newspaper proclaimed him labor's oldest supporter. At a hundred and four in 19 28, this would have made down one of the last survivers of the great famine.
