Is There a Better Funding Mechanism?
State fish and game agencies get all their funding through hunter angler participation or excise taxes on sporting goods. As more species make the endangered species list, it's at a point you'egoingto be like, we at a state level, we can't do any more. We're trying to not think this way any more,. They have a cliantel of hunters and anglers who want to see lots of elk, lots of turkeys, lots of trout as well. And so they're like, i'm paying the money because i want, i like to hunt. I want you to take my money and make sure that these things are viable.
