I think we're all going to have to agree on something beyond not liking the other people. And that may mean that the problem for a lot of people, particularly the sort of more liberal of us, is we don't like telling other people what to do. But it's exactly the right answer for the moment. Couldn't agree more, read old books, trust old books,Trust old books, because you need to recognise that ideas age in reverse and get weaker as we get older. So read old books,. That would be, I think that would be wise advice and don't neglect the wisdom of the past.
Dr James Orr is Associate Professor of Philosophy of Religion at the Faculty of Divinity, a position he took up after four years as McDonald Postdoctoral Fellow in Theology, Ethics, and Public Life at Christ Church, Oxford. He holds a PhD and MPhil in Philosophy of Religion from the University of Cambridge and a BA in Classics from Balliol College, Oxford. He is the UK Chairman of The Edmund Burke Foundation, a public affairs institute that aims to strengthen the principles of national conservatism in Western and other democratic countries.
