The Rise of the Holiest Country in the World
The U.S. has gone from the coolest country in the world to the holiest country, says John Oliver. The transition is a non-obvious thing but it's part of an ideology space that was left open by Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev and his "neo-state religion," he argues. It also leaves open coolness and interesting things like rocketing into space or allowing people to wear blue jeans.
