Women spent 60 percent of their adult years either pregnant or nursing. Men had far greater ability to capitalize on the transition from feudalism to commercialization and as this occurred men built guilds so these organizations that preserved existing privileges and locked out other groups. In western germany women had no rights they weren't allowed to use to compete with the girls at all but where you see great prosperity like the netherlands and parts of france um paris then women could actually be included in guildso there was let  when the pie was a little bit bigger people might be a bit more prepared to share so the girls discriminated against women. Women's social capital still had very weak social capital
