How I Learned to Speak Spanish
My grandma is Mexican, but her ancestors are from Spain originally. They were Spanish Jews that got kicked out and then they immigrated to Mexico. So I saw the Spanish languages tied to her. My mom never spoke it around me. Of course, she's a native. Both my parents are non-native speakers. But in the past, I would just forget that he's Icelandic because he sounds completely American. He moved to the US when he was 12. And now he doesn't have an accent. When he's in Iceland, he looks and sounds Icelandic. But when he's in the US, he looks & sounds American.
