The Crucifixion of the Cross, Philippians 1.29
In Philippians 1.29, we should realize and accept that suffering is part of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. He himself suffered on our behalf by dying for the sins of his elect on a bloody Roman cross. We must willingly and quietly renounce our own wills and subject ourselves in our sufferings to the will of God.
