The Importance of Cultural Change
The trend to call people customers when they're patently not is something that is happening everywhere. I hate this kind of, or a politicization of language. The training course civil servants are doing takes 55 minutes and lawyers on the front line aren't reporting any significant culture change. That doesn't start in your inbox. And when you have a home secretary who likens asylum seekers coming via very dangerous boat crossings as an invasion, that's not compassionate language. It needs to start with a change of government, I think.
