The Vision of God: a Conversation with Michael Allen

Grace in Common

CHAPTER

The Difference Between Vision and Contemplation

Mike Baving talks about the distinct things that Christians are made to behold. In terms of both incarnate Lord in Jesus Christ and also we think of God as incorporeal how do you think about the difference between for example vision and contemplation? He says there's really two ways to look at it I'm not sure one or the other is necessarily more right. Mike: How does the development of the concept of the vision of God in the Old Testament play in this into this for you  I'm thinking of more of a biblical theology strain moving from the adenic manifestation of God to the angel of the all way to Moses at Sinai etc.
