The Dodd-Frank Act put into place a number of sweeping measures aimed at making sure banks were properly safeguarded against unforeseen risks. A few years ago, President Trump rolled back a lot of those requirements, particularly for smaller regional banks. There are a lot of people who think that had a direct impact on what we're seeing today.
