Afrofuturism - Kindred by Dana Butler

The novel Kindred is another reflection on themes we have followed throughout the history of Africana philosophy. It is also a kind of mirror image for more straightforward Afrofuturism in that the novel connects the contemporary world to history instead of looking to worlds that are yet to come. The recent Marvel movies based on the Black Panther comics, directed and co-written by Ryan Coogler,. are only the most high-profile example of how that Afrof futurism has worked its way into popular culture since the 1960s and 70s.
