The Story of a Captured Prisoner

Ariel Weinman was a patriotic teenager who followed in his grandfather's footsteps to join the US Navy in 2003 just after graduating high school. After completing his initial training Weinman was assigned to the USS Albuquerque which was a Los Angeles class attack submarine as a fire control technician. He witnessed a superior accepting monetary bribes in exchange for improved performance scores and felt ignored and forgotten by his chain of command. On his first day of shore leave following a six month cruise his fiance broke up with him and returned the engagement ring he'd given her the year before. So Weinman had to plan that he hoped would give him both money and leverage to start over in Austria near his ex-fiance Swiss school
