How to Be a Successful Filmmaker

I think it's also that I've had to let go of the idea that I am a filmmaker. There's a sort of traditional trajectory for filmmakers and that is rapidly being eroded. It used to be that you'd work your way up through music videos and then you get into commercials. But that has just all gone away because the highly creative work they used to come out of ads just doesn't work anymore. And so for me just letting go of the ideas of being a filmmaker and leaning into the idea of being some form of storyteller would be the thing.
