Lawrence's Life and Times

Lawrence was a science reporter for The New York Times. He reported on early developments in nuclear research before the government began classifying atomic studies. In 1945, Groves recruited Lawrence to serve as a reporter on the Manhattan Project. Throughout Lawrence's service in the Manhattan Project, none of his reports were published and he simply stopped reporting without explanation.
