Workplace wellness programs focus on changing behavior and that behavior change may proceed improvements in other outcomes. If employers are seeking to add benefits that workers value, the programs may be worth it. But if the goal is to save money by reducing health care costs and absenteeism or to improve chronic physical health conditions, there is little evidence of this type of program delivering the desired results.
