Is Berkshire Hathaway Affording to Pay More Taxes?
The average US company earns just a 6% profit margin. That's low enough that it's almost a certainty that the typical US business will pass on tax hikes to consumers. Berkshire Hathaway can certainly afford to pay more taxes, though just because it can afford to do so doesn't mean that it won't pass on tax rises to consumers. The alternative would drop their profits to the point that in many cases investors would be better off liquidating the company and investing their money elsewhere.
