The Future of AI and Machine Learning

In terms of applied AI whether it's good old fashioned AI or deep learning I've been talking to people about ambient intelligence and the spread of these cheap sensors. So clearly to the extent that it's possible for us to systematically gather new sources of valuable data that we don't currently have there will be all kinds of great applications of AI and machine learning. The problem isn't because somebody did something wrong or was lazy or was biased in some way it's just that machine learning never gives you something that you didn't explicitly ask for.
