The Theory of Knowledge by Presence
Suhravardi argues that direct apprehension is the basis of all our knowledge. Passion is therefore pointless, at best a concatenation of things we already knew directly. Suhravardi was already developing his idea of knowledge by presence in his so-called peripatetic works. He sees the basic idea as part and parcel of theperipatetic tradition.
