The Purpose of Poetry

The purpose of poetry is not to describe objects and processes, but to trace language back in the other direction. The early greek philosophers had the idea of the logots. And that if one takes that thought or sounds that syllable, one's own mind goes back along the path from which er the word initially emanated as it began to take the form of the universe.
