The Importance of Desire in Relationships
The idol is an interface that allows you to control the divine at some level, right? Or to appease the divine or to apply a kind of, I don't know, it's not a stretch of technological rationality to it, right? If I do, to X, Y, or Z through this interface, to the divine, I can summon it, I can control it. This is the idea whether or not you actually can, right? It's a different question, but I think it offers that possibility.
